We’re Sanne & Brooke, the dynamic duo and proud owners of Running Wild. Our business venture kicked off in 2020 right smack in the middle of the COVID chaos.
But before diving headfirst into the world of elopement photography, we were graphic design gurus by day and outdoor content creators by, well, whenever we felt like it. Together, we shared a passion for the outdoors, hiking, landscape photography, sushi, soup, and micheladas. Every weekend you would find us outside in another part of the state, creating photo content for brands on social media. REI, Columbia, Outdoor Voices, just to drop a few names.
A few years after we met, Brooke turned to Sanne to capture her engagement photos in the mountains, and BAM, Running Wild was born! Ever since that first photoshoot, we knew that this was our calling! We find joy in helping couples tie the knot in epic landscapes and reconnect with the wonders of nature.
After a few years of running around, not only our families grew, but also our business! We’ve evolved from a two-women powerhouse to a team of five.
Meet the Running Wild Team
Sanne | Founder
I’m a born and raised Dutch girl who found her way to the beautiful USA. I eloped without even knowing it! In 2013, I called my family, told them I was getting married in the USA with a guy most of my family never met, and tied the knot in a small courthouse in Florida. A year later we celebrated big in my backyard in the Netherlands with all our closest friends and family.
Hobbies: Hiking, Watching SCI-FI, and eating out
You can wake me up for: Sushi
My favorite part about my job: is seeing my couples be in Awe and soaking in the beauty of the landscape on their wedding day.
Bucket List Elopement: Ecuador or Patagonia
Family Life: Two kiddos (Wick & Oli), husband Luis. Two cats (Goblin & Spidey), and two dogs (Holland & Wookie)

Brooke | Founder
I grew up in a smallish Virginia town (forgive me if I say y’all haha) , but I now enjoy the city life in Seattle. I got into elopement photography, because I was already obsessed with taking photos of my friends in beautiful landscapes around the world, and Sanne had the brilliant idea of turning our love of photography into a business.
Hobbies: Hanging out with my family, watching movies, and re-designing my house on sketchup.
You can wake me up for: My child… other than that I will continue to sleep
My favorite part about my job is: Telling epic stories through epic landscapes

Family Life: Proud momma bear to two incredible kiddos, Otto and Via, and lucky wife to my adventurous partner-in-crime, Trevor!

Kristi
I was born on the east coast but I am a west-coaster in my soul. I moved to Oregon with the intention of documenting love in the most breathtaking locations throughout the pacific northwest. When I’m not photographing elopements, you can find me living in a small surf town in Mexico, teaching yoga, surfing & soaking up as much sun as possible.
Hobbies: yoga, surfing, travel, anything & everything outdoors, going to see live music, dancing with my girlfriends
You can wake me up for: really delicious food & a good sunrise
My favorite part about my job is: getting to truly connect with other humans through this work, and getting to see (& document) a side of couples that most people don’t get to see

Janelle
I have a passion for the outdoors and photographing people in it! I was born and raised in Washington State, and am a hiker, climber, and mountaineer turned adventure elopement photographer. I have been incredibly lucky to combine two of my passions, photography + spending time in the outdoors, and am so stoked to be a part of the hype team for your adventurous wedding day!
Hobbies: Hiking, climbing, singing, and playing video games with my partner & friends
You can wake me up for: A fresh cup of coffee, the first snow of the season, or if you’re my dog, to go outside to potty
My favorite part about my job is: Getting to share the beauty of amazing outdoor spaces with others

Alanna
I have always felt most at home in the mountains. Growing up in a small coal-mining town in Wyoming, I knew there was so much more of the world I wanted to experience. Since then, I have lived in multiple states throughout the Rocky Mountain West, backpacked western Europe, lived in Costa Rica, and have yet to satisfy my travel bug! Traveling, exploring the outdoors, and connecting with new people are my biggest passions in life — which is exactly how I began capturing adventure elopements! I am so stoked to be a part of your adventurous wedding day, let’s explore!
Hobbies: climbing, hiking, biking, yoga, making new tea concoctions
You can wake me up for: almost any warm beverage, a sunrise hike, or a breakfast burrito
My favorite part about my job is: capturing love stories in beautiful places!

At Running Wild Studio, family looks a little different for both of us. Between the two of us, we’ve got husbands, kids, animals, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos.
But we also know that family isn’t just about biology—it’s about the people who show up, who get you, and who love you for exactly who you are.
And that’s why we totally get it if you’re dreaming of an elopement with just the two of you or a micro wedding with only your closest people.
