Adventure filled weddings artfully planned & captured in the wildest landscapes.

Have you ever found yourselves thinking…

I want to plan a wedding day that actually feels like us.

Maybe you are realizing:

  • We want a stress-free, in the moment wedding experience where we get to focus on each other.
  • We want to plan intentional and meaningful activities and create a day that is totally unique to us and our relationship.
  • Our dream is to marry in a place that feels wild, meaningful, and deeply connected to the natural world, a space that feels like us.

Then you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be

Your destination wedding deserves to feel like an experience you’ll never stop talking about.

As your destination wedding photographers, we help you create a day that feels intentional from beginning to end. From finding breathtaking locations and planning meaningful activities to documenting every emotional, adventure-filled moment, we’re here to help you build a wedding experience that feels unforgettable and entirely your own.

Why Choose a Destination Elopement or Micro Wedding?

Your wedding day doesn’t have to fit into someone else’s idea of what it should be, it can simply reflect who you are together.

Elopements and micro weddings aren’t about running away from tradition, it’s about running toward a day that feels true to you.

Imagine your destination wedding day feeling like this…

A wedding day that unfolds slowly.

Instead of squeezing everything into one hectic timeline, imagine turning your wedding into a multi-day experience.

One day spent exploring somewhere breathtaking together. Another celebrating with your favorite people around good food, stories, and unforgettable moments.

More time.
Less pressure.
Memories that don’t feel rushed.

A day built around the moments you actually love.

Maybe that looks like sharing coffee in a quiet cabin, hiking to your ceremony location, canoeing across an alpine lake, or watching the sunset after reading your vows.

Your wedding doesn’t have to follow a template, it can reflect your relationship, your pace, and the things that matter most to you.

An experience that feels deeply personal.

From fly fishing in mountain rivers and off-roading into the wilderness to slow picnics, board games with loved ones, or dancing under the stars, your wedding day can feel less like a performance and more like an experience you’ll never want to end.

Because the best moments are usually the ones that feel honest, unplanned, and completely your own.

Reasons Why You Should Plan a Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding, whether it’s somewhere close to home or across the world, opens the door to a more meaningful way to celebrate. It’s not just about where you get married, but how it feels and what you prioritize along the way. Here are a few of the reasons couples are choosing destination weddings and elopements:

An Experience, Not Just a Day

A destination wedding transforms your celebration into something immersive. Instead of a single-day event, it becomes a multi-day experience filled with exploration, connection, and unforgettable moments in a place that inspires you.

Wedding & Honeymoon in One

There’s something special about staying in the same place after your wedding day, soaking it all in without rushing off. Your celebration naturally flows into your honeymoon, creating one seamless, memorable experience.

More Quality Time

With fewer guests and a shared location, you get to spend real, meaningful time with the people who matter most. It allows for deeper connection, relaxed moments, and a pace that actually lets you be present.

A More Intentional Budget

Rather than spending on a large guest list, you can invest in what truly matters to you, whether that’s an incredible location, meaningful details, or once-in-a-lifetime experiences you’ll actually remember.

Freedom to Do It Your Way

Without the pressure of tradition or expectation, you have the freedom to create a wedding that feels true to you. From the location to the timeline, every part of the experience is shaped around what matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions About Destination Weddings

We typically recommend 9–18 months in advance. This gives you time to secure your location, plan travel, and allow your guests to prepare without stress. It also gives space to design a celebration that feels thoughtful and unrushed.

They can be—depending on where you get married and how you structure your day. Traditional weddings in the U.S. often come with a higher price tag largely driven by guest count, venue size, catering, and entertainment for 100+ people. Costs add up quickly when you’re paying per plate, per chair, and per guest experience.

Destination weddings, on the other hand, often naturally encourage smaller guest lists, which is one of the biggest cost factors. With fewer guests, couples can shift their budget away from volume and toward experience—better accommodations, meaningful excursions, a stunning location, or elevated food and photography.

In many international destinations, your overall spend can also stretch further due to lower costs of goods, labor, and venue fees compared to major U.S. cities. Places like Europe, Central America, or island destinations may offer beautiful private venues, local catering, and vendor teams at a fraction of what similar setups would cost at home.

That said, destination weddings aren’t automatically “cheap”—travel, lodging, and planning logistics still factor in. But many couples find the value is higher: instead of paying for a single large event, they’re investing in a multi-day experience that doubles as a wedding and honeymoon, often with more intentional use of their budget.

In most cases, guests cover their own travel and lodging. That said, we always encourage couples to make the experience as easy as possible—sharing a range of accommodation options, group stays when possible, and clear guidance so guests feel supported from the beginning.

Guest counts vary, but destination weddings are typically smaller and more intimate. Most couples invite only their closest family and friends, creating a more personal and connected experience.

Absolutely. A destination wedding doesn’t mean you have to let go of tradition—it just means you get to choose what matters most. Some couples keep all the traditional elements, others simplify, and many create their own rituals that feel more personal to them and the place they’re in.

Not at all. A destination wedding can be anywhere outside of your hometown—even a few hours away. Whether it’s a nearby mountain town, a coastal escape, or a different country, it’s more about creating an experience in a meaningful place.
