We’re the Running Wild Team
Sanne & Brooke here! We’re the owners and heart behind Running Wild.
Our story started with a shared love for nature, photography, graphic design — and soup (because priorities). Before we ever photographed weddings, we both worked as outdoor influencers, partnering with brands like REI, Columbia and Outdoor Voices to share our passion for wild places.
Then one day, everything changed. Sanne photographed Brooke’s engagement session in Mount Rainier National Park, and something clicked. We realized we’d found our calling — a career that combined everything we loved: location scouting, planning, storytelling, photography, and spending our days outside.
So, right in the middle of the pandemic, Running Wild Studio was born.
As our business grew, so did our families (yep — we’re both proud moms and business owners!).
To keep up with the demand while staying true to our values, we expanded our team and brought on Janelle, Kristi, and Alanna — talented photographers who share our passion, creativity, and deep respect for the outdoors. Each of them captures love stories with the same heart and vision that Running Wild was built on.
How it Works when You Book our Team?
Your experience begins with Brooke & Sanne! You’ll work closely with them on planning — from location ideas and logistics to timelines and all the creative details that make your day uniquely yours.

Get to know your photographer
Whichever photographer you’re paired with for your big day will be deeply involved from the start. They’ll join multiple planning calls to get to know you, understand your vision, and stay connected throughout the entire process. By the time your elopement day arrives, it’ll feel like spending time with a close friend who already knows your story inside and out.
Our Editing Process
After your elopement, your photos come back to us for the full Running Wild Studio editing process. We carefully cull your images, hand-edit sneak peeks, and send your full gallery through our trusted editor (Remlyn) before reviewing everything one final time to make sure it meets our high standards.

Between the laughs and real-life moments, we’ll use these calls to truly get to know you, brainstorm ideas, and bring your dream day to life. Step by step, we’ll walk you through the entire planning process — from location scouting and timelines to permits and logistics — while keeping everything stress-free and exciting.
No two couples are the same, and your elopement shouldn’t be either. We’ll help you design a one-of-a-kind experience that feels authentically you. By the time your wedding day arrives, we won’t just be your photographers — we’ll be friends celebrating alongside you.
Storytelling & Posing Assistance
If you’ve ever said, “We’re so awkward in front of the camera,” you’re not alone — and we promise, you won’t feel that way with us! Nearly every couple says that at first, and then can’t believe how natural and beautiful their photos turn out.
Our approach is a mix of storytelling and loose editorial — capturing real, candid moments while guiding you when needed. During parts of your day like vows, getting ready, or sharing a picnic, we step back and document things as they unfold. During portraits (usually at sunrise or sunset), we’ll gently guide you through natural poses that feel fun and effortless.
By the end, it won’t feel like posing at all — just the two of you being yourselves while we create art together that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

When the heavens open — don’t worry, we’ll make sure you won’t drown!
Things don’t always go perfectly according to plan (that’s part of the adventure when you’re planning an outdoor wedding!). While we don’t reschedule for weather, we always come prepared. No matter where we are, we’ll have backup locations and plans ready to roll so your day stays beautiful, memorable, and true to your vision — rain, shine, or Washington mist.

A full day adventure with 11 hours of coverage. You can either use your 11 hours continuously or break it up and have a break mid-day.

- Who want to take advantage of the best lighting of the day (sunrise and sunset).
- Couple who want to explore multiple locations or want to include a lot into their day like, getting ready, first look, ceremony, picnic, hiking, sunset and maybe ending with stargazing.

9 Hours of continuous Coverage on your wedding day.
Perfect for couples who:
- Want a more traditional timeline by starting at their Airbnb for getting ready photos, do a first look, go to a beautiful ceremony location with their guest, and add a small hike, celebratory picnic, and sunset photos into their day.
- Want to do an all day hike to a beautiful location. We recommend anywhere from 5-6 miles of hiking. This will give you plenty of time to explore, stop along the way, plan a romantic picnic, pull out your foldable kayaks, or do other fun activities.
- Want to visit multiple easy accessible locations.

Additionally, enjoy a complimentary design consultation where we’ll sit down together to create a customized book that perfectly captures your memories. An extra Running Wild team member will be capturing your day on video an deliver a beautiful 3-6 minute film of your elopement day.
