They regularly spend time exploring Southern Gifford Pinchot National Forest together and love taking in the views of both Mount Adams and Mount Rainier, so choosing this area for their wedding weekend felt incredibly meaningful and personal to them.

Getting Ready in a Forest A-Frame Near Mount Rainier
Their wedding weekend began at a cozy A-frame Airbnb tucked away in the forest near Mount Rainier.
The morning felt relaxed from the start. Friends and family helped them get ready while soft light filtered through the trees surrounding the cabin. Instead of chaos or rushing through a timeline, the atmosphere felt calm, intentional, and deeply personal.
One of the sweetest moments of the morning was their first look in front of the A-frame cabin surrounded by towering evergreens.

Their Mount Rainier Wedding Ceremony at Sunrise Picnic Area
After getting ready, everyone made their way toward the Sunrise area of Mount Rainier National Park for the ceremony.
With around 20 of their closest friends and family present, they exchanged vows surrounded by alpine views and the beauty of Mount Rainier towering in the distance.
Sunrise is one of the most breathtaking ceremony locations in the park for micro weddings. Sitting at over 6,000 feet in elevation, it offers incredible mountain scenery, dramatic landscapes, and some of the best light in the park during summer evenings.
The ceremony itself felt emotional, joyful, and intentional, exactly what they had envisioned when planning their wedding experience.
A Beautiful Picnic Reception in Mount Rainier National Park
After the ceremony, they celebrated with a beautifully styled picnic surrounded by their loved ones.
The picnic included incredible food, drinks, desserts, and thoughtful details that made the experience feel elevated while still relaxed and personal. Guests spent the afternoon grazing on delicious food, talking together, and soaking in the mountain views.
One of the most meaningful moments happened during the picnic when they signed their marriage license surrounded by the people they love most.

Once the celebration wrapped up, they headed toward Silver Forest Trail for sunset portraits. As the sun dropped lower behind the mountains, the entire landscape began glowing with soft golden light.

Building extra space into the wedding timeline gave them the freedom to slow down, explore, and fully enjoy these moments together instead of rushing to the next thing.
As darkness slowly settled over the mountains, we decided to stay a little longer and wait for the stars to appear, and it quickly became one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire wedding weekend.
Stephanie is known for always taking photos sitting on top of her car during adventures, so naturally they wanted to incorporate that tradition into their wedding day too. Once the stars became visible overhead, they climbed onto the roof of their car together while the night sky lit up above them.
The stillness of the forest, the stars overhead, and the cool mountain air made the entire moment feel surreal. These are the kinds of memories couples never stop talking about after a Mount Rainier wedding weekend.

The second day centered around one of their favorite things: exploring mountain roads together in their car.
We spent the morning driving along forest service roads near Mount Rainier searching for overlooks and hidden viewpoints. Eventually, we found an incredible overlook that perfectly captured the adventurous feeling they wanted for their wedding weekend.
The rugged roads, mountain views, and quiet scenery made these moments feel deeply personal to them.
One of the best things about planning an adventure wedding in Washington is that some of the most beautiful experiences happen far away from crowded viewpoints and tourist areas.
Private Vows at Kelly Butte Fire Lookout
After exploring forest service roads around Mount Rainier, we headed toward Kelly Butte Fire Lookout for their private vows.
Fire lookouts are some of the most iconic locations in Washington for adventurous elopements and intimate weddings. They offer panoramic mountain views, solitude, and an experience that feels completely different from a traditional wedding venue.
The hike up to Kelly Butte felt peaceful and exciting all at once. Once they reached the top, they spent time exploring around the lookout, drinking beers together, and soaking in the scenery before getting ready to read their vows.
Then they realized something hilarious, their vow books were still sitting back in the car.
Instead of letting the situation stress them out, they completely embraced the change of plans. We hiked back down the trail and decided to create something even more memorable.
Standing in front of their car deep within the forest, illuminated only by headlights and the stars overhead, they shared their private vows together in the dark.
And honestly, it could not have fit them more perfectly.
