Day 1: Abigail & David’s Zion National Park Elopement
Abigail and David’s two-day Utah desert elopement began at their Airbnb with a relaxed morning. We kicked things off with coffee and sandwiches from a local shop. The couple took their time getting ready while we and the videographer captured every meaningful moment. David even took a few quiet minutes to read his vows and wipe away a tear.
The emotional first look happened on the Airbnb patio, overlooking the stunning desert plateau. Afterward, we headed to Zion National Park for their ceremony. With the Temple of Sinawava as their backdrop, Abigail and David exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by nature’s grandeur.
After the ceremony, we explored a few scenic spots in the park before heading to their sunset location. The videographer led the couple to a hidden slot canyon near their hiking trail for some magical moments.
Next, we hiked the Canyon Overlook Trail. Abigail and David celebrated with a dance party, multiple first dances, and a champagne toast while soaking in panoramic desert views. As the sun set, they savored the last moments before hiking back to the car.

Day 2: Exploring Bryce Canyon National Park
Day 2 of Abigail and David’s Utah desert elopement adventure started under the midday sun, warming the canyon for their next journey. Although Bryce Canyon was only 1.5 hours from Zion, the higher elevation made it much colder. With matching beanies and backpacks, they set out on a 7-8 mile trek through the park.
This day was all about hiking and enjoying the outdoors. They passed Thor’s Hammer and explored the famous Peekaboo Loop trail, with breathtaking views at every turn. Mid-hike, they paused for a picnic overlooking the canyon. During the break, we surprised them with a few edited photos from Day 1 in Zion. Their faces lit up with joy as they laughed and flipped through the images.
Continuing along the trail, they encountered a massive ice slide. Without microspikes, they decided to turn back and hike up to the rim for sunset. Retracing their steps revealed new perspectives and hidden beauty along the way.
At the rim, it was time for sunset portraits. With temperatures around 25°F and the wind picking up, they jumped and laughed to stay warm. The sky turned shades of pink and purple as we captured magical photos illuminated by fairy lights.
Red-nosed and frozen-fingered, we said goodbye to Abigail and David. Next up: their hiking honeymoon in Patagonia!
