Elopement Day 1

Abigail & David’s Zion National Park Elopement

On the first day of Abigail and David's two-day wedding adventure, we met up with them at their Airbnb, where we kicked off the day with coffee and sandwiches from a local shop. It was a leisurely morning without any rush. As the couple got ready, the videographer and we (Brooke & Sanne) captured the moments as they slowly prepared themselves in their wedding attire. While David patiently waited for Abigail to finish up, he took a moment to read over his vows one last time and wiped away a few tears.

Then came the eagerly anticipated first look at their Airbnb, which offered a breathtaking view of the desert plateau. After the emotional moment, we all piled into the car and began our journey to Zion National Park for the ceremony. With the majestic rock slabs of the Temple of Sinawava as their backdrop, they exchanged heartfelt vows.

Following the ceremony, we explored a few additional locations within the park before making our way to their sunset spot. With some time to spare, the videographer team led them to a hidden slot canyon near their hiking trail.

After the slot canyon adventure, we embarked on a hike up the Canyon Overlook trail. There, Abigail and David had a dance party, enjoying multiple first dances, and toasted with champagne. As the sun dipped behind the canyon, they savored the panoramic views one last time before descending back to the car.

Elopement Day 2

Exploring Bryce Canyon National Park

Day 2 of Abigail and David’s elopement adventure began in the midday sun, warming up the canyon as they prepared for their next journey. Although Bryce Canyon was only 1.5 hours away from Zion National Park, the higher elevation made it significantly colder. With matching beanies on their heads and backpacks strapped in, they embarked on their 7-8 mile trek through the park. This day was all about hiking and enjoying the outdoors. They descended past Thor's Hammer and made their way to the famous Peekaboo Loop trail. Every turn of the trail offered breathtaking views. After hiking a few miles, they stopped for a charming picnic overlooking the canyon. During the picnic, we surprised Abigail and David with a few edited photos from their day in Zion National Park. Their faces lit up with joy and surprise as they flipped through the photos, laughing together. After the picnic, they continued hiking down the loop until they encountered a section of the trail turned into a massive ice slide. Without microspikes, they decided to turn back and hike up to the rim for sunset. Despite retracing their steps, the views were entirely different, revealing unnoticed beauty along the way. Upon reaching the rim, it was time for sunset portraits. As the wind picked up and the temperature dropped to around 25°F, they had to jump up and down to stay warm, but it didn't dampen the mood. Amidst laughter and joy, they watched the sky turn shades of pink and purple, ending their second day with a few photos illuminated by fairy lights. With red noses and frozen fingers, we bid each other goodbye, sending Abigail and David off to their next adventure: their hiking honeymoon in Patagonia.
